This is the home of VOICES TOGETHER... the concert.

VOICES TOGETHER was formed by a small group of ordinary people to get as much direct help as possible to the wounded civilians, the ordinary people whose live are being torn apart every day in the war in Iraq. To that end, our first event is going to be a benefit concert,... the "Voices Together Concert" to be held in New York City at Peter Norton Symphony Space on January 28th 2006.

Why?

Why not.

To many Americans the situation in Iraq is too complex, too political, or too remote. In addition, the images of the war itself are often sanitized or censored. The extent of the injury and death involving American troops is hard enough to comprehend let alone be able to grasp the extent of Iraqi civilian injuries. But in this case, out of sight should not be out of mind. The huge number of civilian losses in this conflict – no matter how they happen – should be seen as a threat to lasting peace in the world and the responsibility of all decent people.

Helping, healing and goodwill will do as much to stabilize Iraq as infrastructure repair. Rebuilding cross-cultural understanding is just as important as rebuilding a country. We all must help… simply because help is badly needed.

This concert will offer real and specific means for Americans to provide help to injured civilians in need in Iraq, especially the children. The concert will be positive, hopeful, and informative. No guilt allowed, no exploitation of suffering...just an evening of music, laughter, a few tears, and good people coming together to do something... good.

This concert will provide a way for ordinary Americans to do extraordinary things, to know they are helping those who are most in need, and in doing so show a compassionate face of America.
