This weekend!!!

Okay here we go!

Saturday night!!!

The first ever… VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT.

My name is David Ippolito, (aka: That Guitar Man from Central Park)

I’m sooooo grateful to be a part of this amazing night at Symphony Space this week… this Saturday night.

Please join us for the first concert in this effort, okay?

Ordinary people… helping ordinary people.

On the other pages of this website you can see the need for his effort. It’s clear, isn’t it? In the part of our world we call Iraq, people are dying. People are suffering terribly. Children are being hurt and there are so few people who are there to help them.

Ordinary people… people like you and me. Right now as you are reading this, because of the war, there are thousands and thousands of civilians being caught in a nightmare of uncertainty and violence… sudden and often random violence. The heartache and the injuries many are suffering are unspeakable.

Now, imagine YOU can make a difference… a real difference… just by buying a ticket to a great concert and gathering in Symphony Spcae in New York City with a few hundred other good people of conscience. Elissa Montanti will be there, and she will have two very special children with her all the way from Iraq. Dr. Khalil Jassem is coming all the way from the west coast to be with us to tell us about the work LIFE is doing to help. It’s gonna be quite a night.

Go ahead.

Do it today, okay? Click on the link on the homepage of this site and get tickets. Or, start calling some friends and make plans for a bunch of you to show up at 8:00 this Saturday, at Broadway and 95th Street.

We’ll all be there.

I’ll be there.

Here are the artists that I will be sharing the stage with. (Click on the links and visit their websites.)

Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett
George Wurzbach, Dave Buskin, Rob Carlson (aka Modern Man)
Karlus Trapp
Sam Leopold

See you there, too?

Thanks.

Gettin’ close!

Hey… it’s David Ippolito here. (That Guitar Man from Central Park)

If you don’t live in the New York City area, it’s most likely you don’t know me or my music. You can visit my website by clicking here.

I’m about the luckiest man alive. Go to my website and you’ll undertand why I say that.

And, I also consider myself really, really lucky to be involved in this amazing project… the Voices Together Concert. The artists that have assembled to help the Global Meddical Relief Fund and LIFE are some of the most gifted, funniest and nicest people I’ve ever met. Everybody in that theater on the 28th is gonna have a great time…. I can promise that.

But, the reason we are all going to be there is the most important thing to keep up front.

There is a war raging on the other side of our planet, in an area of the world we call Iraq. In this particular war, the brunt of the casualties is on the ordinary people. The greatest amount of unspeakable harm being inflicted on the civilians… the men, women and children… the children in that part of the world.

Please help us help them.

Y’know… here is the list of artists who will be a part of the show so far.

Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett
George Wurzbach, Dave Buskin, Rob Carlson (aka Modern Man)
Karlus Trapp
Sam Leopold
And …me.

But, keep checking back. Because we’re not done yet! We’re talking to a few more very cool people who might be able to join us in Symphony Space that night.

If you have a minute or two, look all around this website. All the information you need to be a real part of this effort is here…. how to buy tickets, how you can attend the VIP reception with the musicians after the gig, details about the groups we’re going to help with the oney raised… all that stuff.

This is gonna be an event you will definitely wanna be a part of. We will do some good for people who really need help right now. And, we will make a bunch of great memories.

Hope I see you there.

Thanks

David

Concert at the end of his month.

Hey… David here again. The concert is comin’ up fast.

I’m here today with a couple of promises.

I promise that if you show up for the Voices Together Concert on Janaury you will be starting off your year doing something extraordinarily wonderful for some people who really need your help.

I also promise that you will not regret being in a great, New York music hall filled with good-hearted, caring people like yourself.

And… I also promise that you are going to be in on an amazing musical event.

Seriously.

You might not be familiar with some of the artists that are in the lineup for the Voices Together Concert…. but, I am.

And, that’s why I can promise that this is gonna be a wonderful night of music.

Christine Lavin
Roger Bartlett
Modern Man
Karlus Trapp
Sam Leopold

I feel lucky just to be sharing a stage with the likes of these people. It’s gonna be cool. (Keep your fingers crossed for a couple of very special guests that might join us that night, too.)

Oh, yeah… here’s my website, too.

I’ll be back a little more regularly to keep you guys updated on the concert.

Hey! If you’re thinking about getting tickets…. stop thinking about it and get them soon, okay?

Thanks.

See you at Symphony Space on Saturday night, the 28th.

Gonna be a Special Night!

Hey… David here.

Sorry it’s been a while between updates. There have been a lot of things going on in the back stretch of 2005. But, I have a new artist to add to the amazing lineup we’ve already assembled for the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT.

A singer/songwriter I’ve admired for a long time has just joined the effort to help the civilians in Iraq.

Karlus Trapp.

When Karl plays… the music comes from the top of his head to the soles of his feet. He really is gonna bring something special to the gig.

So, here are the artists that will be a part of the show, so far. (You can visit all their websites to get an idea why I’m so excited to sharing a stage with these people.)

Christine Lavin
Modern Man
Roger Bartlett
Sam Leopold
And, um… me. David Ippolito

We probably gonna have a couple of really, very special guests in the huse that night as well. I promise this is gonna be an event that you are going to want to be part of.

Listen, when you buy a ticket for this concert, you truly are a hero. You will truly make a differnce for the better in this world. And, you are an important part of this effort in a very real way. Because ALL of the proceeds from every ticket purchased and every single donation made that night… all of it… goes to the people we are helping. (Every ticket and every donation is tax deductible as well. That helps.)

We are also going to need help in getting the word out about this event. So, if you can help in that regard (media, organizations) please contact us here at the Voices Together Group, okay?

Thanks for showing up.

I’ll be back sooner than later to let you know what’s happening, okay?

Time…

Hi… David Ippolito here.

Time is definitely flying by. We are getting closer and closer to the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT.

I am so looking forward to sharing a stage with the artists we’ve already got lined up. And, we’re working on a few more really special guests for this event. If you haven’t gotten your tickets already, you oughta go ahead and get ‘em soon.

Remember, every nickel of the proceeds is going to the people who are helping the ordinary people in Iraq. None of the artists are getting a “benefit fee” or anything like that. Everyone’s heart is in this. And, the production is essentially paid for out of the generous contributions we’ve received from so many of you in the Fractured Atlas account. (By the way, if you’d like to help in that regard and get listed as a producer of this event, you still can. Just go to the “Donate” page on this website and find out how, okay?

I will be back to update this page very soon. There’s a lot going on right now. Scroll through some of the other recent updates on this blog if you’d like to know more.

And, keep checking back.

See you on January 28th 2006 at Symphony Space in New York City!

David

Things are coming “Together”

Hey… David Ippolito here.

Yeah, the voices are coming “Together”.

Here’s the lineup so far.

Christine Lavin.
Roger Bartlett
Sam Leopold
George Wurzbach

…and, myself.

Already, I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with these artists. This is gonna be an amazing night. You are not gonna wanna miss it. It’s gonna be a lot of fun.

But, the reason we’re doing it is no so fun. The reason we’re doing it is extremely important… important in the lives of those we’re trying to help, and important in the lives of every good person of reason and conscience on the face of the earth. There is a war raging in Iraq. And in that war, the people who are suffering the greatest number of casualties are the innocent civilians… ordinary people like you and me.

Yeah… war is war. And, in this war many, many of the casualties are even children. Did you know that at least 1,524 innocent people were killed in the violence in the month of August alone!? Did you know that so far in this month of October, over 500 Iraqis have died in the violence.

Hundreds and hundreds more horribly injured. Hundreds of thousands since the U.S. invasion… many, many of them children.

We, the ordinary people of this world, are going to help them. Because almost nobody else is. Please. Please help us… help them. No politics. No governments…

Ordinary people… helping ordinary people.

Well, there is a woman named Elissa Montanti, an otherwise ordinary New York woman, who has made 4 trips into Iraq to get people and bring them here to the States for the medical help they cannot get in that war-torn part of the world. She is an angel… a true hero. We want to help her do the work she has chosen to do in any way we can. Therefore, VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

She has done amazing things already for so many… but, everyday there is much, much more to do.

And… she’s goin’ again in a few weeks.

There is another wonderful group of people in an organization called LIFE. They have people on the ground in Iraq who have been working tirelessly to help the innocent civilians who need the most help in that part of the world. LIFE is doing heroic and wonderful work…. doing what human beings should be doing for each other.

But, there is soooo much more to do.

You can get tickets for this event right now, today, by going to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website.

BUT! We also have a very limited number of VIP tickets available. But, if you want to order those and be invited to the reception after the show, you have to contact the Voices Together Group at:

Get VIP Tickets

The VIP section will get all kinds of goodies, and the artists will all hang out at the reception after the gig.

If you wanna help in another really extraordinary way, you can make a donation, right online, and become one of the “producers” of this concert. Really! You will be a concert producer! It’s gonna be a special event that you are really gonna feel great being a part of.

Hey, to find out more about Elissa Montanti and the work she’s doing, visit the Global Medical Relief Fund website. She’s the main reason we started the whole thing.

I hope I see you there.

And… KEEP CHECKING BACK HERE as the lineup of artists grows! We’re talking to some very special guests!

Thanks for your time!

Line-up growing!

Thanks for stopping by today. Well, wonderful, wonderful artists are lining up to be a part of this event. It’s gonna be a night you will NOT wanna miss. A lot of laughs, a few tears… but mostly great music and that good, good feeling of making the world a better place.

Hey… why are we doing this concert?

Because a war is a war. And, we get the feeling that people in this country have become so desensitized to misery and suffering in the form of statistics, that the reality of the civilian casualties in this war has eluded many. It’s not their fault. There is a combination of factors at play. But, the human reality of this war is not really hitting home, yet. When it does, (And, it will.) …the line for this concert will stretch for a mile.

Yeah… war is war. And, in this war, the vast majority of the killed and injured are civilians. Did you know that at least 1,524 innocent people were killed in the violence in the month of August alone!?

Hundreds and hundreds more horribly injured. Hundreds of thousands since the U.S. invasion… many, many of them children.

Okay… and here’s the lineup of artists so far. (And, it’s growing.)

I’m gonna be joined on stage by the phenomenal folk-singer/songwriter Christine Lavin.

Everyone in the Voices Together Group is so excited that Christine is going to share the stage on January 28th here in New York City. You’re all in for a really special night. Sam Leopold, another amazing and unique musician, has also confirmed that he will be a part of the lineup.

Very cool.

Roger Bartlett, (The lead guitarist of Jimmy Buffet’s original “Coral Reefer Band”) is also flying in for this gig. Many of you know “Dodger” as the guitar man who plays with the “Guitar Man”. He’s worked on nearly all of my CDs and he’s appeared live with me on nearly every stage for the past 10 years.

And, the brilliant and hysterical songwriter, George Wurzbach, has just confirmed that he will be aprt of this great event, too.

Keep checking back as the lineup grows some more, okay?

Thanks again.

Christine Lavin

Hey, David Ippolito here.

A few years back… out in Central Park, people heard me sing a devastatingly moving song about “the kind of love you never recover from”. Well, the woman who wrote that song, and so many other great songs, has told me that she indeed would like to be one of the VOICES TOGETHER.

She is the phenomenal folk-singer/songwriter Christine Lavin.

Please keep checking back here often as the list of artists grows, okay?

And… if you want to be a special part of this effort, please visit the “Donate” page on this website and send us whatever you can to help cover the cost of the production. When you do, you will automatically be listed as a concert “producer”, here on the website and in the program that evening. And… you’re entire donation is tax-deductible!

If that’s not your bag, just make sure you visit the “Concert” page and order your tickets for this one-time concert sooner than later. (There are only 760 seats in Peter Norton Symphony Space.) And, the holders of VIP tickets will be invited to the reception to hang with the artists after the gig.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by here.

Spread the word among your friends and keep checking back, okay?

Thanks again.

Big News!

Got some BIG NEWS today!

My friends and I have been working so hard to make the VOICES TOGETHER Benefit Concert a reality. Well… as of today…

THE TICKETS FOR THE VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT ARE OFFICIALLY ON SALE!

You will be hearing a whole lot more about this special gig in the coming weeks. But, I can tell you this… you might wanna go to the Peter Norton SYMPHONY SPACE website right now and pick out your seats!

Yeah, yeah. This concert isn’t until January 28th. But, as we begin announcing the artists who are gonna be in the lineup, I think tickets will go faster and faster.

Just a thought.

We’re still looking for support as far as the production costs of the concert. You can be a real part of this amazing and worthwhile event. All you have to do is reach into your heart, and then into your pocket, and send us a few bucks or whatever you can afford. (We’re still looking for that angel or two who can afford to help us with a donation of few thousand dollars or more, but every donation means soooo much.

Seriously.

And, if you help us with the production, you will be listed as a “producer” of the show on both the “Concert” page of this website and in the program that evening.

Y’know, Hurricane Katrina claimed 972 victims.

In just this past month of August alone 1,524 Iraqi civilians were killed… many women and children.

Children.

August alone. ONE MONTH!

Does it surprise you to learn that?

1,524

Any idea what happens to the other innocent people who were standing near them when the bombs went off? The ones who survived?

They are suffering terribly… injured beyond description, children orphaned, wives widowed with no means of support. And, they are being ignored by the most of the world… by our government, most of the news media, and nearly all of the American people.

I’m a writer of songs. I’m a musician. I have many friends who are artists and many, good friends in various professions. What can we do?

What can we do?

The VOICES TOGETHER Concert.

I hope, whoever you are, that you are willing to support this effort.

Hope you’re willing to really show up for something this good. And, it’s gonna be a warm, fun, feel good night… promise.

Thanks.

David
