Concert Venue Chosen!

Well, the venue for the VOICES TOGETHER Concert has been chosen.

The show will be at the beautiful and warm Symphony Space on Broadway in New York City, on Saturday night January 28th. (8 pm)

We will let you know when the tickets will go on sale, here at the Voices Together website, and at That Guitar Man from Central Park

In the meantime, you can still be an important part of this effort. We are still looking for good people who are willing to help us out with the production and promotional costs of this very worthwhile event. Everyone who donates at this point will be listed in the program that evening and here on the website as a “producer” of the concert.

So… right now, visit the “Donate” page, and help make this concert all it can be. Really be a part of it all.

And, keep checking back here for the announcement about ticket sales, artists in the line-up, and special guests.

Another week…

Hey… you want to make this a very special week for yourself?

Make this the week you decided to become a “producer” of a benefit concert, okay? Become one of the voices in VoicesTogether.

Go to the “Donate” page and help us out with whatever you can afford to give. You can do it right online… right now if you want. This concert is going to be a very special event, I promise. It will defifnitely make you feel wonderful to be able to say that you were a truly important part of making it become a reality. Today is the day we need you to say, “Dammit, I’m gonna do it! I’m gonna help these guys help some people who really need help right now!”

They are people just like you and me… civilians, men women… and children. (Especially the children.)

This effort is really coming along thanks to all of you. But, we have a lot of work to do… a lot more money to raise. Then, we’ll have alot more music to make, a lot more Goodness to feel, a lot more Love to pass on, and a lot more smiles to share.

Aw, go ahead.

Do it now, okay?

When you do, you will be listed on the “Concert” page and eventually in the program as a producer of this show. Once the production costs are covered, every nickel will go to help these kids and their families. So, give what you can.

Thanks from all of us at the Voices Together Group.

Producers…

Y’know… seriously. This is getting rrrreally exciting.

The good man who runs the Hammerstein Ballroom called me late last week and told me that he has contacted a MAJOR singer/songwriter to see if he has an interest in joining us for the Voices Together Concert. (At this point, I’m not at liberty to name him.) But, keep your fingers crossed. Not only would he make the evening the artistic experience of a lifetime, but his return to this country would garner international attention. I’ve got calls out to George Wurzbach, and I’ve spoken with songwriter Christine Lavin about this event, too. I’m hoping to speak with Christine again, maybe next Monday.

Listen, no matter who walks out on that stage that night… remember that the real reason we are all going to be in that room together is to raise as much money as we can to make a real difference in this world, in the most powerful way possible… by helping someone. By bringing a smile back to a child, or an ordinary person just like you and me whose life has been torn apart by the fear and violence that is a daily way of life in Iraq, we can make this world a better place… a safer place for everyone.

I hope you can find it in your heart to really help us out by supporting this concert. You can go to the “Donate” page right now and make a difference, too.

Thanks

David

Things are taking shape…

Hey…

Well, this past weekend marked an anniversary of a terrible day for this world.

But, y’know? Today… is NOT that day. Today is a new day. Every day is a day to make a difference for the better in this world. Y’know, we are the sum of the choices we make in every single moment of our lives. And, right now at this moment as you are reading this, you can make a choice to make a diffrence in this world… a very real and tangible difference.

If you go over to the “Donate” page right now, you can become a producer of the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT we’re going to put up in January in New York City. Y’see, by helping to pay for the actual production of the concert, you will allow us to say, with honesty and clarity, that ALL of the proceeds from this effort, ticket sales and additional donations, will go directly to the people we are trying to help… not to production costs.

Pretty cool.

Now is the time. It’s kind of “crunch time”.

Dennis Riley aand I are speaking with the people at two of the finest concert venues in New York City this week… The Hammerstein Ballroom and TOWN HALL. (We also ave someone speaking with a globally famous singer/songwriter who might be interested in helping us out with this project.) So, it’s getting really exciting.

Please be a part of it.

You can make this ordinary day a special day for yourself by doing something extraordinary right now. Go to the “Donate” page and become a concert producer. And, get your friends in on it, too. The VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT going to be a very special event. I’ll see you there. And if you’re one of the producers, I’ll be hangin’ out with you that night.

Thanks.

David

Links and other things…

Hi… David Ippolito, here.

I would just like you all to be aware that the links and articles on this website are very often updated by Dennis Riley. And, the resources links are a great place to keep informed about the important things that are going on in Iraq and elsewhere.

As you know, the VOICES TOGETHER CONCERT is all about helping the ordinary people, especially the children, in that country whose lives are being ripped apart every day by the war. We are getting very close to making a major announcement about the venue and the date. After that, everything will probably begin to move very quickly. But, we still need to raise money for the production itself.

So, if you can help us out with $100, or $500, or $1,000 or more… (or another amount) now is the time. You will be listed as a producer of the show.

Now, on another note, this weekend is the fourth anniversary of September 11th.

I will be in singing in Central Park both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I will also be asking some of you, very directly, if you can help this concert become a reality. If you live in or around the New York area, head out to the park this weekend and let me know if you can support us and exactly how. Then we’ll talk about it, okay? Maybe we’ll grab a cup of coffee or plan a lunch together. I want to speak with people who are willing and able to really help out. The time to get involved is now.

And, if you live in a different part of the country or a different part of the world, you can donate online… or, email someone in the VOICES TOGETHER GROUP and they’ll get right back to you about how you can help.

Hope I see you or hear from you soon.

Be well.

Heading to Detroit?

I’m hoping to speak with the CEO of LIFE, Dr. Khalil Jassemm, about making a little visit, sooner than later. At our meeting in New York last Saturday, he and his associate Mohammed had mentioned that it might be a good thing for me to come to their city… perhaps do some kind of a small concert or presentation in Detroit where they are based. (If you are reading this in the Detroit area, check back soon and I’ll let you know what develops and when that might happen.)

Other than that, I can tell you that everyone at the VOICES TOGETHER GROUP is thrilled with the donations and promises of support that are coming in already. We launched this website 1 week ago, and the response has been inspiring. But, we’re just getting started.

Here on the “What’s New” page, you will be able to check in and keep up with all the latest developments… which big name artists we are approaching, which news media outlets will be running stories on the effort, that kind of thing. So, keep checking back here, okay?

And, if you haven’t become a real supporter of the VOICES TOGETHER concert yet, visit the “Donate” page and find out how you can help right now. It’s going to be a very, very special night.

Thanks for stopping by today. Check back again soon. As I say at my concerts and at my own website…

…”It’s just us!”

Great Meeting…

Just a quick update…

On Saturday before David Ippolito’s weekly concert in Central Park, Mimi Evans, Sue Hannah and David met with several of the principles of the organization called LIFE. (Dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the world regardless of race, color, or cultural background.)

Here is their website.

Lifeusa.org

Go have a look. We’re sure you will be as impressed and inspired as we at the Voices Together Group have been.

Life USA is doing remarkable work in Iraq, helping the ordinary people who need the help the most… civilian men, women and children. They are all about empowering people to incredibly make a better life in the midst of the chaos. This organization will be one of the beneficiaries of the VOICES TOGETHER concert in January.

Kahlil and Mohammed of LIFE are also completely on board to help the Voices Together Group with the production of the concert, so that this event will be something very special for all of you. Together, we’ll be talking to some big name artists to show up with us that night and lend their talents to this beautiful and worthwhile cause. (It’s too soon or premature to announce to whom we are speaking.) But, we all can say this much right now… the Hammerstein Ballroom will be filled with good people, and the power of Love, music, laughter, determination, reason and compassion.

If you want to help with the production of this event, you are urged to click on the “Donate” page and send whatever you can right now. Everyone who lends a hand at this point will be listed as a “producer” of the concert, and we will later announce some very special benefits that come from this simple and timely act of kindness.

Ordinary people… helping ordinary people.

Make a very real difference in this world.

Be a part of it.

Join us.

Voices Together…

You’ll be seeing posts in here, basically from two members of the Voices Together Group… Dennis Riley and myself, David.

Among other things, we will keep you all up to date on the progress that’s being made in bringing this very cool event together. Dennis will probably give you the nuts and bolts of the operation, and I will try to let you in on the creative end of things… the artists we’re talking to, the speakers we’re lining up, what the production is gonna look like, that sort of thing. I’ll probably just offer a few thoughts now and then. Like today…

We said that we were going to list the names of EVERYONE who sends any amount of money to help with the production cost of the concert itself on the “Concert ” page”. We are going to acknowledge them… you, as “producers”. Already, y’know, some people have sent as much as $1,000 - $200 - $25 - and, even $10.

Somehow, the $10 donation gave me such a warm feeling today.

It means people are giving whatever they can afford. And, that’s what this is all about. Ordinary people helping ordinary people. Please give what you know in your heart you can afford to give… to help us help the Iraqi people who’s lives are being ripped apart in Iraq. If you are an ordinary man or woman who can give a thousand dollars… great! And, thank you! We reeeealllllly NEED you.

But, remember… $10 means so much.

It really does.
